Abstract

The issue of plastic waste has become a global concern due to the serious environmental implications of plastic's difficulty in breaking down naturally. If not managed properly, accumulated plastic can contaminate soil, water, and air. Addressing this issue requires innovative approaches for more efficient, effective, and sustainable waste processing and recycling. Technologies such as automated sorting, chemical recycling, and converting plastic into fuel or construction materials offer solutions that reduce reliance on raw materials and minimize waste. However, technology alone is insufficient. Public participation and government policy support are essential to establishing an integrated waste management system. Continuous promotion of education and public awareness about the importance of sorting and recycling is necessary. A more holistic approach to plastic waste management requires collaboration between technological innovation, active community involvement, and supportive regulations. This approach not only protects the environment but also creates economic opportunities through the recycling industry and the circular economy. Innovation in waste processing is a key strategy for sustainable development.
