Abstract

Conventional formwork is still the choice of the majority of construction industry implementers in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the use of this type of formwork is not environmentally friendly because it not only consumes wood resources, but also leaves a considerable amount of construction waste. Technology and innovation in the construction field continue to develop along with the changing times, one of which is aluminum formwork. This formwork method is systemized and made from aluminum so that it can be used up to hundreds of times and is a minimal waste technology. The results of this research provide in-depth insight regarding the comparison between aluminum formwork and multiplex formwork in terms of cost and time efficiency on the Ruhul Amin Islamic Boarding School hall building project. Based on the results of a comparison of multiplex formwork with aluminum formwork in the Ruhul Amin Islamic Boarding School construction work, the cost comparison calculation using multiplex formwork is IDR. 38,567,958.00 takes 6 working days while using aluminum formwork amounting to Rp. 94,165,800.00 takes 3 working days with a cost difference of Rp. 55,597,842.00 cheaper multiplex formwork than aluminum formwork.
