Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of impeller modification on the performance efficiency of the Shimizu PS 130BT water pump using the Design of Experiment (DoE) approach. The impeller was modified by altering the blade shape and blade count to obtain various fluid flow characteristics. The DoE method was applied to identify the optimal design combination by testing parameters such as flow rate, total head, motor power, and pump efficiency. The results indicate that impeller geometry modifications significantly enhance the pump’s efficiency compared to the original manufacturer design. This research is expected to serve as a reference for developing more energy-efficient and optimal pump designs for domestic and small-scale industrial applications.
