MONITORING KETINGGIAN AIR SUNGAI BERBASIS PROTOTYPE INTERNET OF THINGS MENGGUNAKAN SENSOR ULTRASONIK
Abstract
Monitoring river water levels is a measure that can be taken to track changes in water conditions and support the early detection of potential water level rises. This study aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based river water level monitoring prototype using an ultrasonic sensor. The ultrasonic sensor detects the distance between the sensor and the water surface; the measurement data is then processed by a microcontroller and transmitted via the internet to a monitoring system. The research methodology encompasses requirements analysis, hardware and software design, prototype implementation, and system testing. Testing involved subjecting the system to various water levels to evaluate the sensor's ability to detect surface level changes and the system's capability to transmit measurement data. The results demonstrate that the prototype is capable of measuring water levels using the ultrasonic sensor and displaying monitoring results digitally. The integration of IoT technology enables periodic monitoring of water levels without the need for manual on-site measurements. Consequently, the developed prototype serves as a preliminary model for a river water level monitoring system and can be further developed into an IoT-based early warning system.
