Abstract

This study aims to identify Narcissistic Personality Disorder and the factors that trigger NPD in the film “Wish” Disney. The research method used is a library based qualitative approach. The data source for this study is the film “Wish” Disney. The data collection technique in this study involves watching the entire film, understanding the data source and transcribing it. The research focuses on the characteristics that can lead to NPD and the factors that can trigger NPD. The results of this study indicate that the character of King Magnifico are described using the American Psychiatric Association’s theory, are (1) Exaggerated Sense of Greatness, (2) Overburdened With Fantasies, (3) Belief That They are Exceptional and Unique, (4) Need to be Admired More, (5) Deserves special treatment, (6) Exploiting Interpersonal Relationships, (7) Lack of Empathy, (8) Envy and Thinking Others are Envious of them and (9) Arrogant Nature. The factors contributing to the development of NPD in the character of King Magnifico are (1) Psychological Factors and (2) Sociological Factors.
